One day, in 2006, I got a knock at my front door. It was 84 year-old Harry “The Horse” Danning, the former catcher for the 1930s New York Giants baseball team. We had corresponded and he said if he was ever in Los Angeles that he might drop by. And he did! So, I got out my video camera and filmed some of his recollections of his days on the diamond. I made Harry’s interview into a short documentary and was thrilled that it was shown in Cooperstown, New York at the National Baseball Hall of Fame’s 2nd Annual Film Festival, where it was an official selection.
