I’ve always loved the movie The Graduate (1967) with Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft. An iconic movie to say the least. I had just watched it for what must have been the 20th time. The next morning, I happened to be driving in Beverly Hills and took what I thought was a shortcut onto a street I had never been on before: North Palm Drive. While driving down the street, I noticed a unique wood design on a house in the neighborhood. “I’ve seen that before,” I said out loud! I stopped the car in front of the house and looked at it, trying to figure out where I had seen that singular artwork.
Then, it hit me: this was the house from The Graduate––Mrs. Robinson’s house! It was a brick house that must have been painted white for the movie. I had seen it many times before but it was a very cool thing to see it unexpectedly in person. Not quite as cool, though, as crossing The Beatles Abbey Road crosswalk, but honestly, pretty close.
